Is the child’s life filled with meaning?
We often talk about how to overcome depression through meditation for health and healing. Often people come to us in a depressed state, who have lost confidence and purpose in life, are disappointed in relationships and do not see prospects. These are all adults. Well, what about the children?
As it seems to us, from the height of his age — childhood – a carefree period of life, when all the problems are solved by adults. Childhood is when people give gifts, when amusement parks, laughter, sweets, everyone loves me — and I love everyone. Unfortunately, in real life, not everything is so magical.
Childhood depression. What does it look like
Today, depression is diagnosed in children as early as 4-5 years of age. Often parents notice signs of depression as developmental delays. But experts have learned to distinguish precisely childhood depression. There are a number of reasons for this. As in adults-from injuries to overload and personal sensitivity. Very often, the children themselves say that they do not know why they were born. Why me? What do I live for? Children have lost the meaning of life. They can’t find their purpose.
The child takes everything that happens around him personally. Seeing the busy adults around him, he realizes that they are not interested in him.
When the mother is angry, the child thinks that it is because she does not love him. Seeing how the father scolds the older brother, the child believes that he himself is also not good.
Even when parents do not put such a meaning in their words and gestures, the child accepts it only in this way – because this is the only meaning of his life, in this family and in love within the family.
The child does not seek a double meaning, a compromise, does not persuade himself, he simply registers as a fact – it is not clear why I am here. If they don’t like me, then why do I? And it doesn’t find an answer. He was not told where to look for this meaning.
Adult baby
Imagine a child who has learned that this life here and now is one of many he has lived. That just like now, he was born many times. He had different parents, he was both a boy and a girl, and an extraordinary being. That he has been to different worlds, walked on the ground somewhere, flew somewhere, teleported somewhere, or lived under water. The child learns that he once did not live on a planet at all, but was a star and led the life of a star… Feel for yourself how the consciousness expands, letting in all this information at once, allowing for the most incredible, unique meaning of life!
Imagine telling your child that later on, they will continue to be different and live in different worlds. And one day he will remember how he was a boy on the planet Earth, what cities and nature were around, how people lived around, what he could do and what he learned. How interesting it will be for him to remember his life, how many new things are around, what can be learned! How valuable!
